Fishing Reports

Okay, asking for a little help here. Spent about 4 hours casting out about 8 feet from the shore with live shrimp on a circle hook. 30lb fluoro leader on 30lb braided line with a split shot weight about 18 inches from the hook. Target species were mangrove snapper and snook. I would see smaller mangrove every now and then, but the only interest I had were from these little fellas (and one toadfish). Shrimp were hooked through the horn and would die about 5 minutes after being hooked. 

Please help!! Am I doing something wrong?

Was almost done reeling back in when this guy shot from the rocks and smoked my shrimp. Had never seen one of these before and thought it was venomous 😅

Was hoping for a mangrove, but this guy ended up on the line..
