Fishing Reports

‘‘Twas the afternoon of Christmas, I was out by the pond;
Searching for largemouths, of which I am fond. 
My lure had a palomar knot, tied with great care,
To search the shallows, and find the bass that lurked there. 
My first cast was short and I caught nothing but grass;
But the second throw was sure, and was noticed by a bass. 
From the depths he exploded, and attacked from below;
I set the hook twice, and away we did go. 
He swam away hard, and he fought well and true, 
My drag it was screaming, and in the air he flew.
I kept my cool, never gave him an inch.
And eventually I caught him, pulled him up in a cinch. 
Catch and release do I practice, and he soon swam away,
After I made sure he wasn’t too tired from our play. 
Then casting and casting and casting some more, 
Five more good size fish, took a shot at my lure. 
I snapped pics of all and let them all swim away,
To live and get bigger, and fight another day.
This was a good day, and I had a great time,
It was a perfect chance to go out and wet a line. 
Six fish did I catch, they put up a great fight,
And I thanked them each as they swam out of sight. 
For the fun that I got from each strike, each bite,
Now Merry Christmas to all of of you, I’m tired, so good night!
