The SpoolTek Fatty Curly has a short, thick, baitfish profile designed to emulate pilchards, croakers, pinfish, finger mullet, herring, threadfin shad, gizzard shad, bunker, and others. It features a curly swim tail for increased and versatile action. The lure's most unique feature is the internal spool containing a stainless steel leader (braid for Bass colors only) that will separate from the lure when a fish strikes.

This allows anglers to use lighter leaders attached to the eyelet of the lure, thus enhancing the action while preventing breakouts due to the internal leader. It is also important to note that the hooked up fish will be unable to use the weight of the lure for leverage to throw the hook.
