Lake Carroll is the largest privately owned lake in Illinois. It’s over 640 acres and is about 50’ deep at its deepest. The fishing is incredible. The lake is stocked and has its own hatchery for walleye. Largies, smallies, white bass, walleye, cats, carp, crappie, northern, Muskie, perch, bluegill, and shad are some of the common species here. You must own property to put a boat in. Plenty of lots available, even some starting at $1. Annual dues are about $1700 and include golf, skiing, lake access, and so much more!
very nice lake with beautiful scenery. there's 3 boat launch areas on the west end, east end, and towards the middle(south side). The west end boat launch is the most friendly to put in a kayak. The lake is still very young but the fishing there is great and the size of the fish caught there is improving. Its by far the best lake in the area and will remain so until West Lake reopens and is restocked.
