Very wonderful place to go and kayak or fish or just boat around in general. Very Family friendly with plenty of boat launches to get you out on the water fast. Very protective DNR, very nice and well kept DNR officers that respect your space and your opinions
Best when it hasn’t rained or flooded in a while, as it’s name implies the waters get extremely murky. I’m talking less than 6 inches visibility on a white bait. Lots of northern pike, bass, catfish, and bluegill. With lots of little pockets, streams, and a connection to the river at several points depending on water level there are some monsters out here and it’s one of my favorite spots to go
